Again, Camskill have both sizes on 5 day lead time. When I last tried to get tyres from normal sources, I was told there are so few Cayman/ boxsters that they cannot order them. Camskill have a better arrangement and get them shipped direct from Germany.kilarney said:
Which version of the F1 is best to use. V3 seems to have higher grip scores than V2 so assume V3 is now the one to get ?
I've only used F1 A2 (not A3) on my TTS and now Cayman 981. I recall that switching from Conti SC2's to SC3's on my BMWs was fine, no difference. But SC5s wore out in half the time. I'd need to see some opinions from F1 A3 users to switch from A2s but I guess A2s will be discontinued at some point? A2s score higher than A3 in Goodyear's reviews (link below). Then there's F1 A5, F1 Supersport and Supersport R!: https://www.goodyear.eu/en_gb/consumer/tires/car.h...
In other words, I can only vouch for A2s over 25k miles on the TTS and 30k on the Cayman.
I went from PS2 to F1 on mine and you do lose some precision but gain compliance and reduced road noise. I don't miss them as such, but if they were the same price as one another would opt for the precision of the PS2 - but they were around 50% more £ than the F1's when I was needing them (following an embarrassing, idiotic, moronic MOT failure) so a financial decision had to be made - and the Mrs made it!!
