Dead Musicians Top Ten
Discussion
I don't think this is in particularly bad taste, but with Phil Lynott and Bon Scott appearing in recent threads it got me thinking....
1. Lee Brilleaux - Dr.Feelgood
2. Joey Ramone - The Ramones
3. Phil Lynott - Thin Lizzy
4. Malcolm Owen - The Ruts
5. Bon Scott - AC/DC
6. Ian Dury - The Blockheads
7. Joe Strummer - The Clash
8. John Bonham - Led Zeppelin
9. Johnny Thunders - The New York Dolls
10. Marc Bolan - T.Rex
These placings are purely personal and based around how P:censored:D OFF I was when I heard they died.

Elvis and Hendrix have to be somewhere near the summit for me. Hendrix was a revelation and arguably the best guitar player period.
Bonham should also be higher up the list as well IMO.
Funny story about Bonham........
I was sat at the bar in a country pub near Kidderminster in 1978, when Bonham came and sat down right next to me.....
As a massive Zeppelin fan I nearly wet myself so after a couple of minutes I plucked up the courage to say,"The beers on form tonight John"....
He downed his pint in five seconds, remarked "Yes", got up and left..............

Well put him on your list then.
I said it was a personal thing, I saw all but two of those people perform live and was 8 when Hendrix died. I remember clear as day where I was when I learned of the death of all ten (and Elvis too, but I worshipped his '60s stuff and hated the jumpsuit era so wasn't AS depressed when he died). This is how I worked out the top ten.........
