Trans America bike race.
Discussion
This year it was won by Abdullah Zeinab in 16 days,9 hours and 56 minutes, beating the previous best by 10 hours.I read somewhere that it is a 450km/day average. He has done an interesting interview with Mark Ferguson(cycling Maven) on Youtube.
Last year he won the unofficial Indipac at his first go.
Could he be a new ultra distance star like Mike Hall,Kristof Allegaert or Jesse Carlson?

He already is.
The world of unsupported ultra is maturing and we're seeing some super stronger younger riders who already have the mental toughness and the advantages of being younger. I think it helps that there's so much more material out there and it's not such a leap into the unknown. When I started there was bugger all information available and everything was trial and error. It's going to be fascinating watching the sport develop over the next few years, especially with the explosion of smaller races that are bringing more and more people into it.

Can we expect a thread on your next adventure? Been following you on strava it’s coming up pretty soon is it not? I'll try to cobble a blog entry together on the weekend's Mersey Roads. It didn't go well and I'm still picking at the bones to understand why but I think I'm getting to it. The short version looks likely to be: making assumptions based on past audax/ultra efforts and failing to train (body and digestion) enough in the TT position. The year's big target is Paris-Brest-Paris in four weeks. The silver lining from this weekend is that I'll now arrive to Paris fresher and can even stick in a mini training block before then. PBP should probably have a thread as I'm sure there'll be a few PHers riding.

I was referring to PBP above when I was talking about your next big adventure definitely do a blog / post I’m sure there will be a lot of interest. Are you doing it on the jack with that TT set up including the disc wheel?

You should be able to do PBP in four weeks easily! The year's big target is Paris-Brest-Paris in four weeks. Shame about the weekend I didn’t even know it was happening if I did I would have come along and given you a shout as it wasn’t far from me. Saw you had a mention in cade’s video. Incredible the amount of preparation and nutrition strategies that are required for a 24hr TT.

I'd happily ride PBP with that setup, yes. Those wheels are brilliant. Conditions were very windy for the 24 and lots of riders were complaining. I don't tend to suffer too badly but I didn't have a single wobble. I'm not sure yet what wheels I'll run though. I am also supported by Aera Wheels. Also great wheels but currently top out at 56mm (and I have a custom 65mm rear). That's probably all the wheel most people would ever want but as a heavier guy I can afford to run them really deep, even for stuff like PBP. If I were to use Parcours wheels for PBP I'd not be riding any major events on the Aera wheels this year.I was referring to PBP above when I was talking about your next big adventure definitely do a blog / post I’m sure there will be a lot of interest.
