Problem with immobiliser.... couldn't start car

My car is a 96 griff 500. META alarm / immobiliser

just had a problem with the immobiliser and couldn't start the car !!

after putting the immobiliser fob in several times then locking & unlocking the doors again, it eventually switched off and let me start the car.

Has any one had this happen or can offer any suggestions.

I had a similar problem last week after I left the lights on and flattened the battery.

Once recharged, then disconnected it for a few moments to let everything re-set, after that the alarm and key fobs worked fine again.
