Yes, he'll need to tell them and even worse, it'll go down as a fault claim 
- this happened to me about 12 years ago with a deer. Car was written off in the end, purely for financial reasons, though we then bought the salvage & repaired it.
When I questioned the fault bit, the response I got was that because they couldn't blame anyone else, they could only blame me for it. Not sure about now, but back then the only insurer that actually had "hit animal" as an accident type on their quote website was Aviva, everyone else classed it as a single vehicle accident and obviously the excess wasn't recoverable etc.
It's crap, but there's not much you can do.

The front of modern cars is designed to 'crumple' easily and it's very easy to suffer expensive damage from minor bumps.A similar amount of damage was caused to a car I used to own when someone reversed into it at fairly low speed in a car park.

As in “will he have to tell”, if so that makes the of vs have piece completely redundant. hes claiming off his insurance, but he drives a taxi ( different vechile ) on a day time on another different company policy , will he after to tell this company about his car claim ?

Not sure that it will be too expensive on the insurance.
It goes down as a single vehicle accident, and it's collisions with other vehicles that are the ones that seem to bother the insurers.
My wife had a low cost (£1,000 to £2,000), low speed collision with another vehicle two years ago. First claim in about 10 years. It has caused us a load of grief ever since with insurance premiums, so much so that she is not insured on any other of our vehicles. We are both over 50, so this is not a young driver type issue.
10 years ago I had a car completely written off. I managed to avoid the head on collision with the driver coming the other way at 60mph while texting on a single carriageway A road, but my car and I ended up upside down in the deep, but fortunately dry, as it was June, ditch. The other driver didn't even slow down, never mind stop. £5,000 claim. No effect on my premiums. Went down as a single vehicle, own fault claim.
