Escort Mk1 1.3L discs
Discussion
Are there any members out there who have for sale, or know where I can buy, a set of Ford Escort Mk1 front brake discs. Outer dia 219mm, inner dia 63mm, depth 24mm, disc thickness 10mm. OEM 1419749. New or used, I'm not bothered, mine are pitted beyond repair. If anyone out there has them please get in touch ASAP
Typing the part number and 'brake disc' into the google gives plenty of results

Burtons have always been my first port of call but usually for more esoteric bits .. but they have these ....

Have you tried Rallydesign in Faversham, Kent www.rallydesign.co.uk
Might be a longshot, but for my Lancer I had to get a set of different discs and then had them machined down to my spec. (well, I didn't, an Engineer friend of mine did, he took the specs of the standard discs and cross referenced for another type, then did the work).
Maybe something of that era, Ford might be adaptable?.

I've had similar trouble with brake discs for my Firenza, or did have until someone had a batch machined from billet steel. I spoke to someone at a disc manufacturer about machining down an existing disc to fit, but there was nothing suitable that would encompass all the required dimensions.
Part of the issue on the Vauxhall is that the disc is mounting on the back surface of the hub, rather than having the "top hat" section that is more common these days, where the disc is sandwiched between the wheel and the hub. There are one or two similar that can be modified, but also require modification to the calipers, so I was thankful that someone co-ordinated having a batch made.

I can see from your profile that you own a old Lancer which is popularly known as the Lancer Box back in Sri Lanka and very popular and still in daily use a lot,its popular in Phillipines and Malaysia too
If you need parts you can get the original from one of these countries if you can find a online retailer or im sure they can arrange something
cracking car I must say and I dont think there are any left in the UK now apart from yours

Yep, my wife is from the Philippines, and we visit twice a year so I stock up on parts from there, but Box types are getting less common there these days. If you need parts you can get the original from one of these countries if you can find a online retailer or im sure they can arrange something

I've had mine more than 20 years, before we met so when I first landed in Manila I was pretty shocked at all the Lancers running around. They only brought 425 Turbo models into the UK for homogolation purposes and they were fitted with the 4G63 2.0 turbo engine and ECi. I was surprised to find the Lancers in the Philippines were mostly 1.6 4G32's or smaller, but still had the "turbo" model front and rear spoilers. It is handy for trim and panel parts though if I need them.
I've got a youtube channel (if you google Ex2000 lancer turbo mine will be on the youtube results) which gives some details of the restoration plus driving around and scrapyard hunting in the Philippines.

Sorry for the off topic response chaps

Yes I sure will look up you channel
my dad had the Lancer GL 1978 the one before the Box type Lancer and later had the Lancer C12 so you can say that i'm a great Lancer fan

Haven't read the whole thread so not sure how the Escort became the Lancer, but the C12 looks like it became the Proton saga, was still in production in 2015 loads of bits in Malaysia including tuning parts, have a look on mudah.my. loads of people with experience of fitting latter engines etc
these seem to be exactly what u want ,,,, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COPPIA-DISCHI-FRENO-ANT...

I’ve got a pair of Capri 2.8 callipers going cheap, if you want to do a vented disc conversion
Hi I could be interested....is it a standard mod on RS2s? Im out of touch used to know everything about em! Mine has 2.8 struts fitted.
An old skool upgrade for both calipers was to use the AP cast iron 4pots from an Austin Princess/Ambassador, but its probably cheaper/easier to just buy a complete aftermarket set of willwood 4 pot alloy brakes anyway TBH.
