2006 BMW 335i - Soot when exhaust meets under car

Got my car up on a lift today. The oil sump gasket needed replacing but I already knew that and everything else seemed to be just fine apart from this below:




This is where the exhaust meets. Does anyone know if this is a cause for concern?

You're exhaust is leaking. I would imagine it'll fail an MOT like that.

New exhaust time I think

It may be repairable however if not a quick scan of Realoem for the part number points towards that bit also have the Cat's attached to it so it could be expensive!

Just what I need after a oil sump gasket repair bill. I'll get it checked out when the works start on Tuesday.
