Hi - Has anyone experimented with intakes on their 997.2?

Perhaps this has been covered before in a thread?

Best

"The 2009+ cars have a much-improved design. For the MK2 they added a second inlet to allow for more cold air.
We do not recommend changing the factory unit, as most designs on the market we have seen will allow hot, horsepower-robbing air to be sucked in from the engine bay.
It causes the intake temperature to climb and forces the ECU to utilize lower maps for less HP.
The OEM intake is designed to seal nicely against the decklid to provide cold outside air. It is not a major bottleneck in the car's powertrain and no aftermarket units we have tried proved to gain any horsepower on the dyno"

Items we would NOT recommend changing:
- Intake
- Headers / Catalytic converters
- Transmission
- OEM Oil cooler and oil system

Wow thank you for a detailed reply! The Fabspeed claims are bold (being American) - making claims that rain exits in the .2 airbox base also let in hot air. Plus you get greater induction noise.

I did always wonder how a fabspeed setup deals with water entry from the deck lid.

My 997.2 with PSE is just the teeniest bit polite sounding ... so thinking of tweaks.

it was a copy and paste from sharkweks website.

But def better places to spend your money.

The bypass is a nice mod on the 997.2 .
