I need to do some at some point. What did you use as the blanket, and as adhesive?

I had this company do mine. Was most of the bonnet of my 2001, Mk3 Chim, so larger than the O.P's.

William Street Motors (in Northam, Southampton) took the bonnet off (they are used to dealing with Tvrs).

Country Insulation (also in Northam, Southampton) - replaced the original mat, as it was going on the corners, & moisture made it start getting a lot worse, quite quickly - I didnt want it falling onto the engine/belts on a run.

Country Insulations (Marine & Commercial)
Insulation contractor in Southampton, England
Address: Unit 6b Row Commercial Properties, Southampton SO18 1DH
Phone: 023 8033 4669

He was only going to charge about £20, parts & labour, so I gave him £30 I think. One corner did start to go again quickly, but sorted quickly to.

Must get a good key & right heat graded adhesive.

Only think it's necessary over the heat source TBH I used Evo Stick green as it's a known quantity unlike crappy red , just found this too might be useful , paint was just high temp satin black and well prepped & keyed https://tvr-parts.com/tvr-parts/part-details/tvr-s...

I have the later Mk2 bonnet arrangement and for a long time suffered my insulation becoming unstuck.

Normal contact adhesives just don't cut it with all that under bonnet heat, if anyone has the same issue a tube of this stuff for just a fiver does the trick like nothing else....

Problem solved thumbup

Thanks for the heads up Dave , I should of mentioned I used Silkaflex 221 years ago on the baggy and loose corners about 7/10 years ago .............. well just dont it stuck alright but was an absolute muthafker to remove and I left lots of the mat behind trying to peel of the blanket whole frown its way to strong an adhesive for this kind of deal IMO headache and a st to peel and scrape off the rough FB bonnet underside not helped by me probably making sure the surfaces were oil/grease free also when I applied it banghead I remember it was this type because it secures my front hinge box also and that is solid so I must have just used what was left over whilst the bonnet was off biggrin
