Back to Germany and Hockenheim. Something of a power circuit, although the twisty stadium section stops it from being a Monza style slip-streamer.

Ferrari say that they have now established the correct development path for the SF90; let’s hope so otherwise this could be a Mercedes walkover.

Interesting to see if CLC can continue the very public ending of Vettel’s top line F1 career; Vettel managed to bin it here with the race in the bag last year.

Last year, Lewis Hamilton took a sensational victory in a thrilling, rain-hit German Grand Prix as Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel crashed out to gift the Mercedes driver a 17-point lead in their championship battle.

Vettel had been cruising to victory ahead of Hamilton's team-mate Valtteri Bottas until rain started to fall with about 25 laps to go.
The downpour, affecting only part of the track, turned the race on its head and brought Hamilton into the mix when he had been looking at a fourth-place finish after starting 14th following a hydraulic failure in qualifying.

I'll go out on a limb and predict a Mercedes 1-2.

Looks like a rainy quali but dry race. Maybe that’ll change and race will be wet too!

Mercedes 1-2 with Bottas second after some crap race pace once agai, Vettel 3rd, Verstappen 4th, LeClerc 5th, Gasly 6th, Mclarens 7th, 8th.

Mercedes will say Ferrari and Red Bull are a threat all weekend then drive away from everyone because they actually aren't. Rinse and repeat pretty much every race so far really.

It’s on the circuit map, above. 2 zones (3 last year)

Sorry, is it marked by the green dashed lines? Does that not mean 3 again this year?

It was a poor attempt at humour making reference to Grosjean's radio message blaming Ericsson for his crash, when in fact it was his own fault and Ericsson was no where near.

Sorry I'm knackered and need even the most basic humour spelled out to me!

Ah, you may be right. I was looking at the two detection points.

FIA have not released the 2019 track map yet, normally around Tuesday it gets released.

We will be there this weekend. If the RB and Ferrari's are close it should be a tight fight for the 3rd step

Good chance of rain this weekend. I think i've said the same for a couple of other races this season and it came tho nothing but... fingers crossed once more smile

Currently showing 50%+ chance of rain midday on Sunday on most forecasts. Lesser chance of rain on Saturday.
