An old thread from years ago just popped up on 'My stuff' and it got me thinking how many 100's of threads i've been enjoying over the years have simply died a death and the updates stop.

I appreciate there is loads of reasons this could happen but thinking about it there is probably only a handful of project threads you ever see a finished project hehe

What threads have you wanted to see the finished result only for the thread to die a death?

I have observed a lot of threads die the death shortly after I have posted on them

I’ve noticed that the more interesting a thread gets the more likely it is to get quietly deleted.

The one with the two gamers who met up in America for a few days and then fell out big time! Really wanted that one to have a bit more meat to it but it ended a bit boringly!

By definition I guess they all either run out of steam or get locked in the end.

Or end up a series of embarrassing self-referential jokes.

The one where the PHer came and told everyone he'd just found out that his girlfriend works in a rub'n'tug shop. He was about to confront her and then it went all quiet. Awful waste of suspense.

I can't think of many, I could point out a lot we could do without though.
There was a chap in the readers cars section who was building a car from scratch, I seem to remember he'd formed the whole thing with wire like they used to do back in the day, but it seems to have died a death.
Car projects take so long that often life events intervene.

10yrs! We demand closure!!!

Seemed to go quiet due to increased hassle cy88 was experiencing from internet randoms plus hinted at media interest for which he needed to keep schtum.

But, it’s been 10 years ffs! Some kind of wrap up would be nice.
