Investing apps which one?

Looking at the various apps on offer to invest a few quid and would like some first hand experience from anyone who uses them

Not looking to put away regular or huge amounts probably I'd imagine about £500 a. Month or so in dribs and drabs

The HL app is quite good. But not quite sure what investing things are app only; for me the HL app is only really used for checking prices. Most admin is done through the website simply because its easier and more convenient to have a lot of information accessible when transferring money, selecting funds or shares etc.

I think the better way to go about this is to decide what kind of investment risk you ultimately want your money in and then figure out the cheapest way to do that.

For me, a combination of funds bought in a Barclays ISA plus top-up Vanguard funds (direct through their website) for anything over £20k pa was the best way to get diversified global equity risk. But you might want a different kind of risk - how long do you want to put this money aside for and what other risks are you exposed to in life (i.e. leveraged property holdings or cyclical employment prospects)?

It really shouldn't matter whether there's an app or not, checking your balance daily on a long-term investment is just noise. With almost all platforms you can set up regular purchase orders.

Are you after an app that helps you to invest (I.e. provides information, market data etc), or primarily one that helps you monitor your investments over time and easily lets you make changes to the investment mix?

Basically I want an app I can log into and bang £50 into my investment pot any time I feel like it ideally something I can have relatively easy access too if I want cash out and something that let's me split my pot between safer and higher risks

Most decent providers will offer an app. But what you will find (as already said) is that its a lot easier to do this via a computer..
