Looking for a replacement over next 2 weeks for my XF (which i love) but i realy have to sort out in this period of time so its going to have to be whatever is on market, prefer garage as px would make it handy but can be private to as dont need to sell XF..

Has to be light ext and interior and really want ventilated seats & adaptive cruise this time round but i not essential as ive bought a seat mat that does this and is very good but would prefer integrated.

300 hp + is fine, less than 80k miles, nothing less than 6pot, happy to go v8 or v10 as fuel not an issue and neither are running costs, i want reliability though, xf has been faultless in 2 years, little electric things i dont mind sorting but gearbox and engine reliability i call reliable.

Youd think there were loads, but.. i only like light exterior / interior combos, happy to go dark grey exterior but cant stand black interiors, so this narrows the choices.

My 4 door (happy to go estate) short list so far is:

Jaguar - XJ (2011 >) portfolio
Audi - A8/S8, A7/S7, A6/S6
BMW - 7, 6GC, 5
Mercedes - E (new shape) or S.

Top of list is the XJ as ive tested it and love it but might not find what i want colour combo wise and i really would like adaptive this time to slow me down on A roads (not all xjs had this)

Any other suggestions over what ive chosen? Considering i like the xj which isnt for everyone..

Yes, do like these, was close call between this and the XF when I got it so don’t know why I’m not looking at them, probably because the XJ is a step up in luxury and the cls can’t quite match it though cooled seats are std on the 63 I think, is massage part of the designo seats?

Lexus GS or LS?

The VW Phaeton or a Hyundai Genesis may be worth a look too if you're not too concerned about a badge. You might get a Volvo S90 with the blonde interior in budget also.

Got the 2 door sorted with a Maserati GTS, looking for lux cruiser for us and the 2 dogs so 4 door essential..

Your previous infinity recommendations look quite nice but need to see in the flesh I think as they’re quite quirky, I like quirky tho sometimes

Okay in that case there's the Hyundai Genesis which is a very good car these come loaded with every feature you want the one below still has two years worth of Manufacturer's Warranty left for added peace of mind.

Just look at the spec, now the materials aren't quite as nice as an Audi but they're still a nice place to be:

The Infiniti's are a good car but hard to find with a light interior they're also a bit smaller (but not by much compared to your XF) in Q50 form but you get some interesting powertrain options:

Q50 Sport Tech 3.0 Twin Turbo 400

2.0T Sport Tech 210

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

3.5h Sport Tech 360 these are very good cars & drive well as I said you'll have to try one for size.

If you do pick the Hybrid drivetrain then you can get the bigger Q70 which is a nice step up in luxury, but still not as loaded as the Genesis above:

Q70 GT

Premium

I wouldn't say they're quirky when you see them in the flesh they're not as out there as you think, any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks, Genesis does look good inside and spec is vey good as you say, I’m not a branded person but the exterior styling I’m just not keen on, they look like a mix of other cars and no real I’d of their own, unlike the infinity..

Q70 interior I love along with the exterior (in photos) will try and get to see one to make sure but the lack of light interior makes it very hard, i could forgive dark exterior because you can wrap but little you can do with interior

Looking hard to beat an XJ, 8sp 2013 low mile diesel 14k or S/C supersport with 600hp for 20-25k with low miles

Took CLS out, interior isn’t anywhere near as nice as XJ (later one even worse with stuck on iPad) and way noisier in the cabin.

new e class 2015> Was more a match but feels a bit middle management even if a little more modern outside to early XJ

Funnily though a really nice older s class has popped up in lhd which I quite like, not on radar and no idea what they’re like, any thoughts? (Ignore price)

I agree. Love the XJ, especially with the 5.0 Supercharged V8 but as the OP mentions finding one with a light interior is going to be a struggle with so few available in budget.

If you can live with the Supercharged V6 then here's an XJ that ticks the boxes:

Black though..

How much would a decent wrap cost on one of these as a lot of car to cover?

The xj is easy to find in light colours tbh, even in portfolio only trim, seems its a colour combo jag owners like, masses of black on black to mind.

3k on a wrap i certainly wouldnt do

I like that.. like the later ones but theres so much talk about rough s line ride being pants so air would be essential, anyone in a position to compare to the XJ ride wise?

S7 caught my eye yesterday to, along with a 2013 facelift 730d which came std with air at rear after early model ride complaints

Interestingly the 2015> A6 at 85mph is 1.5db quieter than XJ tho that is the 3.0 and not the S6 (cant see results for s6)

Well, ended up with an XJ, not the exterior colour i wanted frown

just couldnt get the combo in portfolio with low miles and fjsh unfortunately

Wandering wether to get it wrapped now, pf pro (who are recommended on here) are saying 2k

Satin Pearl white on a black car though scratchchin would be a nightmare when stone chips occur.

Any experiences on here?
