Hi all, we've got a leased car in the family that is only covering half as many miles as we predicted it would.

Has anyone ever managed to get a reduction on the monthly because of this, or is it a suck it up situation?

You can probably lower the mileage cap which may well bring down the monthlies - likely to be an admin charge for doing so which may nullify any saving (it's £60 for VWFS)

I tried with VWFS whilst in a lease for a Seat Leon and they advised they couldn't reduce the mileage therefore monthly cost.

Yep, my Golf R lease went from £225pcm to £163pcm. Phoned up VW, gave them my current mileage (12 months into 24 month lease) and what I thought I'd end up completing and they adjusted the monthlies.

I was hugely under mileage on my Scirocco R and VWFS told me to GTFO so your mileage may vary.

They also took the piss with the sale value when I decided I wanted to buy it at lease end, so maybe they just didnt like me very much.

Did it here on a Leon, with Arval from 50 to 40k. Saved about £500, but better in my pocket than theirs.
Best to try around halfway through.

Did they tell you that the high sale price was justified to reflect the very low mileage? biggrin

I did wonder, at the time!
