Just a thought and I'm aware that some won't agree but I seem to see more trolls creeping into the threads I read lately. Nothing really appalling but the pissy type of trolling that means threads just aren't worth reading any more. Surely that isn't the way forward for anyone?

Take for instance people blatantly trolling the F1 threads with anti "F1 Driver" crap. None of it malicious but just pissy statements designed to cause an argument and derail a thread.

I'm not just singling out the F1 threads as it happens on loads that I read.

I'm not sure if the program allows it but I've often though a 24hr sin bin on any particular thread would be worthwhile. It would allow the trolls to move onto something else and wouldn't inconvenience a regular poster who has a one off marry moment. If a troll was a repeat offended they could be banned from that sub section for a certain period.

Just a thought, difficult when your revenue comes from posters viewing the site, no matter how malicious their intentions might be. Although I suppose it's balanced out by anyone who shares my view who sighs when they read their "my stuff" threads and simply can't be bothered to click on those threads where you know you'll be opening a bunfight.

Hi LOH,

Thanks for the suggestion and taking the time out to give some feedback.

As you probably know, we rely reasonably heavily on users reporting stuff to the us. The site really is too huge for us to monitor every thread. So with that said, if you do see someone trolling or going against our rules, we ask that you report them to us and we'll deal with them as we see fit in line with our guidelines... And we'd be very appreciative in return smile

If a thread comes to our attention and it looks as though it needs monitoring, we'll do just that and keep on top of any rule breakers.

Thank you!

What happened to the third-party mods, I haven’t noticed any activity from them for a long time?
