Picking up a Seadoo GTI90 on Thursday.
Apart from a couple of short rentals I've not really used a Jetski before.
I've owned 3 boats. A Terhi410 with a 25hp outboard. A Nidelv24 with a 30hp diesel, and last one I owned was a Regal233XL Ambassador.
I'll be using it in the lakes around my place in Sweden (quite a few of them around) - for day trip fun and picnics with the missus.
It's a short season so I guess I'll see how long I keep it !

They’re great fun

Assume you know this - or will learn quickly - but they rely on power to turn - the jet of water is fired out of the back and tilted to turn - there’s no rudder.

If you get into trouble and back off the power - you have no steering - which is the cause of most accidents.....

I think the GTI90 has IBR - intelligent brake and reverse, so isn’t as bad as older wave runners.

Religiously use a battery tender either connected to the battery on board or remove the battery and keep it inside. If we don’t use them for a few weeks, we’ll plug them in.

If you’re going to tow anything, be super careful with the rope - it’ll suck it right up.

And most importantly, have fun!

Well, picked it up today. It's a 2018 with 9 hours on the motor. Due to an extreme amount of faffage from the missus, it's not been in the water yet. That will be remedied tomorrow.

Thanks, aware of the steering and power relation.
Yes it has IBR, so easier to handle.

Should be about 19 or 20 maybe at the mo - in the lakes. We've a good stretch of navigable river very close by also, which could be colder.

But come winter it'll be snowmobiles on the river/lakes !
