I sold my MT10 at the weekend after 6k miles and 15 months of ownership. Awesome bike. I'll miss the sound of that cross plane engine with it's decat and Scorpion end can.

I get a GSX-S1000F delivered on Friday morning. Looking forward to it. Anyone on here own or owned one?

Seriously thought about one but couldn't get past the styling of the front end. The naked version may be a goer in the future but I'd need a ride of one first to see how bad the throttle snatch is.

I'm a big Suzuki fan as I think they are well designed (good for home maintenance) and not much goes wrong.

I'd be interested in how you think it compares to the MT - better on fuel for a start.

A mate just got a black, red and white one last weekend. I’ll see it in the flesh tonight so will let you know. He’s already waxing lyrically about how he’s enjoying the ride so much more than the GSXR1000 he traded. Looks fantastic in the photos, and will be interesting to see if it can hang with my Z1000?!

I must admit when I went from my ZZR14 to the Z1 I initially missed the warp factor, but very quickly have started to really enjoy my riding again. So much more relaxed and able to perfect style and road craft, as I could never resist the urge to wind up the ZZR every time.

Just curious why go from an MT10 to the GSX S1000F ?

Have you seen the front end on the MT? laugh I know it's marmite but it did grow on me. The GSXS does get some good reviews. The last Suzuki I had was about 30 years ago. The 10 did drink fuel for fun.

Funnily enough the guy who owned it before chopped it in for a Z1000SX. I did look at the Z1kSX but the coin toss went in favour of the Suzuki.

Good question. It was a great all rounder bike but I just fancied a change. I will miss the sound it produced.

Congrats, but an odd move. I have both in the garage at the moment (GSXS1000F is a 2016 I bought new for my dad with an awesome discount - £2.3k cheaper than the MT10 at the time, and immediate availability vs a 6 month wait). Bought a 2019 MT10 to replace my 13 Speed Triple (also better than the GSXS, but slower) - I can't get enough of the MT10. The GSXS is a commuter on steroids. Agreed on fuel, but the trade off is not worth it unless you are big mile commuting. The MT10 is also a better pillion bike and has more luggage options. A Givi low sports screen on the MT10 makes it as practical as the small low fairing on the GSXS.

Saying all that - the GSXS is a great bike in isolation and very rapid. It's also a doddle to ride. If you can get a sub £9k deal, or as I did £8.3k brand new, it's a huge amount of bike compared to anything else at that price point, so perhaps unfair to compare it to more expensive competitors.

Thanks for your comments and feedback.

I really wasn't sure where to go once I knew the 10 was going. I did think of getting another Tracer but then thinking about it, I sold the last one - before the 10, after 8 months so probably wasn't for me.

Is there a mod that can be done to have both headlights on at the same time? Also the other thing I noticed was a switch under the seat that looks something like this one - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WATERPROOF-Dealer-mode-... so I'm assuming this is what it is.

My wife's been on a GSXS1000F for a couple of years and loves it.

She previously had a GSXR but much prefers the more relaxed ergonomics of the GSXS.

It's still a fast bike though.

Gearbox is great and standard suspension is not bad.

Lots of owners complain about the jerky throttle response at low speeds on the early bikes and apparently there was a control unit upgrade available.

Feels very light and sharp steering for an all rounder with quite wide Renthall bars as standard.

That's pretty much surmises what I thought of it yesterday after a quick ride out.

My first impressions were it does deliver the power different, the handling is different, the gear change slicker, it's more comfier for me although mine has a Puig taller screen that seems to do nothing much. I'll get more of an idea of what it's like next week when I take it for a proper blast.
