AutoGlym Polar Range and Bugs
Discussion
Hi all, I'm using the AutoGlym Polar system which is a 3 stage wash system using the pressure washer. Starting with the polar blast snow foam, then the polar wash shampoo with lambswool mitt and grit guard rinse bucket and finally the polar seal. It's been a week since my wash and water is beading nicely. However, I don't really want to wash it every week. I'm thinking to possibly wash every 3 to 4 weeks. Is that too long a gap between washes? I'm just thinking the more frequent the washes, the more risks from the contact washes. After just a few days of driving after the wash, a drive down the country roads ends up with the front bumper and bonnet being splattered with bugs. Does anyone have any recommendations of removing these bugs in between washes? Or does it need a wash again? Also noticed that the snow foam and shampoo doesn't really get the bugs off easily. Is there something I should be doing for the bugs before snow foam or after?
A citrus pre-wash is good for softening bugs. I'm using the Auto-Finese stuff at the moment, which I find works well. Have heard it is a bit expensive compared to other brands.
If you've sealed the car well with a good polish, glaze and wax after a de-contamination wash, then they shouldn't be too hard to shift.
I'm using the Polar Snow Foam at the moment too, but find the citrus pre-wash is probably more effective. I'm not bothering with the other Polar products in the range. Polar 3 stage is really more of a maintenance wash routine on an already sealed car. But you maybe know this already, I'm no expert, so not meaning to be patronizing.
For a regular maintenance wash I do:
Power wash
Clean wheels
Citrus pre-wash
Snow foam
Mitt wash
Dry with quick detailer
