If you are going you might want to go to the airport open day, most of the aircraft fly from there. There are no traffic problems either.

In today were a pair of Harrier GR7's, A pair of Jaguar GR3's, a Hawk, A pair of Lynx, a pair of Tucano's and the two Typhoon T1's. A Hercules and 2 Tornado F3's were due in this afternoon. BBMF & Merlin are due in tomorrow :) + civvy stuff aswell. Utterly Butterly Wing walkers and Sea Vixen should hopefully also be there.

The Vulcan will be doing a taxi run aswell :)

i was watching them from my balcony....its so nice seeing 'proper' aircraft rather than bloody cesna's and the other usual assorted cack that goes over southend.

im gonna be watching from the same place tomorrow and on monday im going to watch it from chalkwell park as its literally 2 mins walk from my place,it saves trying to get through the crowds on the front plus you can see everything from there better than you can on the front.

That is now a restricted area. They have put up crossing barriers near the church and do not enter when barrier is down notices

Not sure if you are allowed to sit on the green now.

Will have to see tomorrow as that used to be a great place for photos.

I took the above pics from an industrial estate in Rochford.

Nice to see 29(F)Sqn back to the fold. Shame about 16 and 56.

One of the Jaguars at Southend is carrying the 16(R) special 90th anniversary tail scheme. Part of the logo has come off but it is still good to see.

56 (R) is still operating the Tornado F3's at Leuchars. There should be a couple of "Firebirds" at Southend now. 54 Squadron disbanded earlier this year with the Jaguar

Mmmmmmmmmm, we did that a few years ago when BAC Broughton Chester had their Airshow, didn't want to go into the show so stood at the end of the runway. Never forget that day, two vampires coming towards us, one wobbled trying to take off - NEVER MADE IT - wing made contact with ground slewing aircraft sideways towards fencing - now having marshalled for years your brain tells you wait to see where it's going before setting feet in motion, unfortunately everyone else didn't and unless you moved you'd have been trampled underfoot in the rush.

Good News was the pilot was OK, plane looked a bit sorry for itself though.
