Buying Audi S4 lease car
Discussion
A couple of years ago I got one of those ‘cheap’ lease deals that were going for the newly updated Audi S4 (the B9 that has the 3L V6 349bhp turbocharged engine as opposed to the previous 328bhp supercharged version).
As I understood it I couldn’t buy the vehicle at the end of the period (as cited in this page too https://www.vwfinance.co.uk/en/privatecustomers/ho... ).
However, today I’ve had a letter through from ‘BCA Driver Sales’ acting on behalf of VW Finance stating that “the vehicle can be purchased by the hirer, friends or family”.
Out of interest I asked for the quote and it came back as....just under £28k. I stuck the car into the well know site that will buy your car and the price offered was almost £28k. Checking Autotrader and there are only 36 Audi S4 B9s (saloon rather than estate which are more expensive) and the slightly older cars start from...£27488 (double my mileage, older car) with equivalent cars being £30+k.
So, given the newly announced S4 is turning to diesel power, that i’ve got on well with the car, and the price seems to be trade(ish) rather than true retail...I’m slightly tempted to buy.
Question is really if the trade on here think this seems reasonable and that this is all legit - given I thought I had no option to buy at the end. And will these ‘last of the petrols’ hold up value in the coming years - noting that rather than buy I could just actually extend the lease for one more year.
