As title, they go numb so I take up a new position, then go back to sitting on feet again. I do this all day long. Don't do any exercise and my legs are very weak. What am I doing to myself. Tia

OK.

Sit on feet, compress sciatic nerve at buttock, makes whole lower leg go numb. Stand up, nerve breathes again. Reversible.
Or,
Sit on feet, blocks arterial supply to feet, feet go numb. Stand up and blood flows again. Reversible.

You are either compressing a nerve or an artery and up to about 2 hours of this is totally reversible.

If you overdose on heroin, and lie on an area for 12 hours without moving (as they do) Then you get irreversible changes and sometimes we amputate a limb for this.
