I've just had my 2010 V12 Vantage serviced at my local main dealer and they advised me that my LEDs in my offside headlamp no longer work. They checked the fuse and the connection and said both were fine. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem or do I have to bite the bullet and buy a whole new headlamp at great expence?

Do DRLs need to be working to pass an MOT? I thought this was a new requirement for 2018+ registered vehicles?

Or do you have one set off, one set on? (If that was me i'd probably just pull a fuse to turn them both off) smile

I believe this company can repair for circa £350, there is a previous discussion on PH's regarding this subject and I bookmarked the company webpage.

I think that as the Vantage LEDs are switched on at the same time as the rear lights they would be classed as side lights and not DRLs which work independently of the rears. If they are classed as side lights I would imagine that a non working one would be an MOT failure.

OP McGurks offer a repair service for them and I seem to remember reading a thread on here about DIY repair of the units using replacement LEDs soldered into the assembly if that is something you would feel happy to try.

That's correct the LED lights are indeed sidelights and therefore a MOT fail irrespective of age

These are a known weak point. I managed to get the dealer to change under good will.

My front right LED strip flickers to a warm white colour for a fraction of a second when it's first switched on (think incandescent bulb colour), before quickly flicking to the normal cool white colour. Its been doing that since i got the car two years ago, touch wood it doesn't go completely. 2010 V8 Vantage.

I also have one segment of the left rear DRL which has gone out. Anyone dismantled and repaired one of these?

Would be a chance to "upgrade" your rear lights if you like the new fancy stuff.

Just an idea ... Cheers

Ok, that is really cool. I'll definitely do that if my lights get substantially worse

I had a demo tail light from Divinatech for a bit. It was hooked up to a control panel so you could see how it would look given any input. I loved it, and a lot of people I showed it to loved it as well.

It's flashy, yes, but it isn't obnoxious by any means. And Divinatech does a great job of fixing the OEM's issues and giving a better product overall. If anyone's complained about the absurd cost of replacing defecting Aston Martin OEM tail lamps... Divinatech is the answer.

New V8V owner here and suffered exactly the same issues as OP.

I've just had the repair to the front LED carried out. Unfortunately I had to have a replacement rear cluster too as due to a failed section of the unit. All carried out last week at McGurk (http://www.mcgurk.com/) and couldn't fault them.
