My new project is underway, originally I was going to build a 2.7 RS replica but I have changed my mind..I am building a fast road spec 2.4 s (from a 1970 2.2 T)....anybody any ideas on a good shocker and spring set up that wont make my teeth drop out but will corner nice and flat?

Best conversion for traction and handling is coil over conversion all round or turbo torsion bars and billy sport strutts at front and coil over conversion on the rear with adjustable rear dampers.

Matt, green Bilstens worked really well on my 2.4E. Better than the black Boge that were standard. They were standard fit on 2.7RS IIRC.

The impression that I have is that the Bilstiens, are significantly better than the Boge alternatives.

Weren't the Bilstiens a factory option?

Edited to add>>

This impression is arrived at through reading and not through expirience. My Boge's seem fine to me, but I'm not a connesoiur. Hell I can't even spell!

FWIW I think the S had Konis as standard. Boge aren't bad at all - but the Bilsteins (that I bought s/h from Chris Heeley, straight from his RS rep) were so much better - taughter suspension control with no real loss of ride comfort at all.

One other thing, changing torsion bars helps too - but I can't remember what were the recommended opions - an SC one rings a bell as being good, but my memory isn't what it used to be!

set up depends on what you want to do with the car, compete?sunday drive etc
For sporting work, put adjustables on the rear, and get rid of the torsion bars with coil overs.Or fit turbo bars all round.
For road standard bilstein will take some beating for the price.
