Where to buy diamond engagement ring
Discussion
Hi
Where are good places to buy a good quality engagement ring without getting fleeced?
Is somewhere like diamond factory in hatten garden, london a good choice?
After researching diamonds, tneir website provides easy quotes when changing clarity, color, size etc.
Any other recommendations?
My girlfriend likes tne idea of ethically mined dismonds, and possibly tanzenite.
Recommendations?
Or is this total rubbish?
Thanks for any info/help.

You could try a vintage ring from the Lanes, Brighton if your girlfriend likes that kind of thing?
My wife wanted that so that is what she got. She didn't want a diamond as the main stone either but there were lots there with just diamond. At least the stone won't be causing more hardship as it's being "recycled".

Diamond Factory, Hatton Garden is a great idea!
Book an appointment, listen to their advice, try lots of different cuts and qualities, pick one and, finally, go to the Champagne bar in St Pancreas on the way home. We did.
You might have gone to the Champagne Bar at St. Pancras, not St. Pancreas.Book an appointment, listen to their advice, try lots of different cuts and qualities, pick one and, finally, go to the Champagne bar in St Pancreas on the way home. We did.
It’s a great place to kill time if you’re early for the Eurostar, might I also recommend the German Gymnasium restaurant in Pancras Square, near Kings Cross Station, great ambience.
I had a good experience at Hatton Garden. Lots to choose from, non pushy sales, lots of advice and then a good deal at the end. I’m not sure what has happened to diamond prices but the one I bought was recently valued at 25% more than I paid for it 10 years ago so assume it was a good deal.
I purchased an engament ring from Alan Bick at Hatton Garden many years ago, he was recommended.

No fancy big window showrooms, no massive shops overheads. It was way up high in one of the office blocks, no frills but excellent knowledge and diamonds.

If you're getting married, getting fleeced by the guy selling the ring is the least of your worries. ;-)Where are good places to buy a good quality engagement ring without getting fleeced?

For my last engagement I used my football season ticket to get discount at the local jewellery shop. After this I visited the Golden Arches and got my season ticket meal deal discount for my Big Mac. Its at times like these, I realise how council I am.
That reminds me of way, way back, probably early to mid sixties, just before, or after my first marriage.I went to Hatton Garden to get a gift for my wife, maybe birthday, maybe Christmas, maybe anniversary, I can’t recall.
I was mulling over something, maybe earrings, at about £15 to £18 then, which as I was truck driving at that time, was a little over one week’s wages.
Worried about my indecision, and no doubt seeing a sale slip away, the clerk said, “Are you a member of a Trade Union?”
I replied truthfully, “Yes, the T.G.W.U.”
He said, “Okay, I can offer you X % discount, no need to see your Union card.”
That swung it, everyone loves a discount, but it gradually dawned on me after, that all that was just a ploy toward making you reach for your wallet.
I can imagine them saying anything to make you put your hand in your pocket, “Have you got a mother?, Yes? Good, I can offer you a 5% discount.”
