Short version-
Anyone know how much extra I should expect to pay to have a non running car lifted from someone's driveway and onto the transporter, rather than pushed out from the driveway and winched onto a trailer? the back of the car is facing the road so would be a real hastle to "reverse" out.

Longer version-
I bought a non running Espace. it's in the previous owners smallish driveway. the driveway is just big enough for the car to fit. The back of the car is facing the road so would need reversing out. chap who I bought it off says guy from garage has diagnosed a knackered starter motor, i'd prefer to get it home and diagnose myself rather than call someone out to replace the starter to find it isn't the actual starter motor that's the problem.
Pushing the car out and onto a trailer looks a right pain, so I was thinking maybe call someone out with a crane transporter.
Anyone had any experience with crane transporters? any rough ideas as to the extra cost/per mile compared to standard transporters where the car is winched onto it?

Bumping it could've been an option but i'd be worrying about it stalling, which knowing my luck!!
I Called out a mobile mechanic who also does car transportation. Starter replaced, driven onto his transporter and 58 miles latter the car is outside my house.

Could you use a persuading device (BFH) to knock the starter motor? Might get one last gasp from it before it requires replacement.

Alternatively, you could borrow a set of car dolly things that sit under wheels and pull it out? Every time I've seen a crane up, it's been bulky or damaged the vehicle if it was a scrapyard.

You never know, this thread could end up in someone's search whilst they're looking up something similar.
So all suggestions could be good, no matter when they're suggested
