Always wanted a bike so fancy just getting a 125 to start with for back and forth to work.
Id rather stick to the 125 for a year to get used to it so which is the best route to take?
Also any advice on a tidy 125 up to £2000 would be great.
Thanks in advance.

ok, you need to book a Cbt, that will give your a learner licence for two years, after that ( or during) depending on your age take your theory test and then either your a2 ( upto 47bhp) licence tests or your direct ( any bike) test.

As for bikes, yzf125, cbr125 are the best bets.

Have a look on Groupon for CBT. Saw a good deal locally recently.

Something Honda/Yamaha/from a recognised manufacturer-it’ll be slightly more expensive but it’ll actually be a decent product!

My other half has a CB125F, and it’s a decent little bike for the money (about £2500 brand new).

They are so fun! Had one for 6 months before I passed my test. Still miss it frown I would have kept it if I had a garage.

Going by the FB group, plenty of people have sold their bigger bikes to get these. Or have both, but Grom always gets more use.

Lots of smiles per mile biggrin

I've been looking at the CBF125 but heard horror stories about the thin stock tyres (Conti GO) and the bike just falling over in the wet. Does anyone have ant experience with this?

I overheard a group of attractive women mocking a chap on Honda MSX125 recently.

"OMG, he looks like an absolute clown/ did his bike shrink in the rain/ looks like a character from Mario Kart", etc.

Just saying.

Try the 125 at CBT level. Then borrow one or hire one for a weekend.. the novelty of no power wears off out of the CBT car park..

Bigger bikes are easier to see.

Flat out at 60 and cars overtake you.. that's when you know you need a bigger bike..

They sound quite the catch. You know the old saying:
.
"If you can't handle me at my best, I'm probably a dreadful c**t".

biglaugh

I just laughed to be honest. Whatever a man rides is none of my business, it's better than nothing, but I am equally of the opinion they look ridiculous.

I'm utilitarian though. Never really understood fashion statements, doubly so "anti-fashion" statements.

My first motorcycle was an Aprilia RS125 2T. It was second hand and had less than 1000miles in it. I loved it. I sold it when i got my full licence and got what I really wanted which was a Ducati.

I started with a 600cc ducati. Then I went for a bigger one.
Do it like me.

Personally I rather think the mocking was rather proof that they did.
