When the door is shut and the door and handle is pulled, the window drops a few mm, so the glass clears the surround as we all know. On my car I noticed today that the passenger window drops a couple of mm less than the drivers side (roughly 2mm compared to 4mm). Reason I am looking into this is to try and solve a window/door rattle which I am convinced is caused by the window meeting the seal.

I have tried the relearn procedure for the passenger window but get no clicking noise after 5 seconds and it makes no difference to the outcome being the same as before, I presume the learn procedure changed for the db9.2 or my door module is faulty?

Any advice/knowledge on this?

Have you checked the actual drop by putting some masking tape on window and measure from a point of reference? Are both windows adjusted to the same closed height? Are both front windows set to the same parallel distance to the rear quarter lights?

Hi yt,

Yes. So the windows go the same distance up (into the surround) when the door is closed, the passenger window drops much less than the drivers window when the door handle is engaged. The passenger window drops just enough to clear the door surround, whereas the drivers side has a few mm. Everything looks to be aligned correctly against the rear window etc.

Hmm, bit of an strange one, could it be to do with the door modules. They are a but iffy on the DB9.1, not sure about the 2. I was going to replace the module on my DB9.1 as it stopped dropping, but eventually after a couple of months it just started working again? Seems you have tried all the obvious things.

It could just be that the passenger door and window are never used as much as the drivers one, and as such may be a bit stiffer than the drivers side. Do the windows go fully down and then up at the same time/speed?

Yes, I thought of that. The windows go up and down more or less the same. I think I need to get it to the stealer to have a look. Its as though the module on the passenger door is programmed to drop a couple of mm less, I was hoping there was a fix /relearn method before experiencing the £200 p/h hit or miss at jct. i suppose there is a half chance they will rectify the window/seal rattle at the same time so perhaps the wise way to go.

Thanks for the comments yt and shuzzy, much appreciated.

Did you get to the bottom of this? I looked at my own Vantage window drop and my passenger side does not drop as much as the driver side when you open the door, so interested as to what the dealer might of said.

Having looked at another Vanquish at Beaulieu I have decided this is 'normal'

Indeed. The AM technician explained to me today that it is a common occurrence.
