During the Eurosport WSBK grid walk they keep mentioning rumours of a completely new Fireblade for next year. Could be a V4? Has anyone heard anything?

Yes, I've heard rumours of a V4 Fireblade.

I've heard them every 6 months from 2007.

Me too. They need it though and I'd be keen to try one out. I just find Honda road bikes so...meh

RC30. I had one a while back. Stunning machine. Check prices now.
RC45. As above only better still. Check prices again.
NR750. Astonishing feat of engineering. Check THOSE prices!
RC213V. Just incredible. Simply amazing bike.
RVF400. I had one. Lovely bike, perfect mix of speed, weight, looks and great noise.
Latest Fireblade. A storming litre bike with 190 bhp and relative practicality/ease of riding.
First Fireblade. Ground-breaking. See prices now.
NSR400. Rode these a few times, never lucky enough to own one. Just awesome.
NSR250. A screaming 250 with the performance of most 400s. Great bike.
Latest Gold Wing. THE way to swap continents on 2 wheels, nothing comes close.
CBR250RR. Owned 2 of these. 19,000 rpm yet will pull top gear from 35 mph. A jewel.
CBR400RR. Fast and frantic, yet fine in town or doing the shop run. Handy track tool.
First CB750. The first Superbike, according to most. Set the ball rolling.
CX650 turbo. Fast and rare. I went to Le Mans on one. 125 mph easy cruise from just 650 cc.
VFR1000R. Gear-driven cams exotica. It just shouted technology and power at the time.

Honda have made some amazing road bikes. Many of the practical touring types or naked bikes are/were great as well.
Arguably the C50 and C70 and C90 are 'great' bikes. Sold about a billion of the things (okay maybe not that high) and were countless peoples' only way of travel in a whole host of countries the world over.

From what I’ve heard it will be separate to the Fireblade, in the same way the RC45 was in the 90s but will be much more affordable than the RCV213 road bike, if it’s up to about £25k, I’m going to get one.

It might not be thrilling like a Fireblade, but the Cub is a masterpiece of design. And fun to boot

Me four since 2011. was hoping to get a new one but the minor changes put me off. Still a good bike but wanted something different and there was not enough change for me

Mr. Honda's first bike was a 50 designed to run on liquid extracted from the roots of pine trees! I can't imagine it went all that well!

Honda actually seem to make bike people will ride. They seem to clock up more miles than most which usually get brought for bragging reasons.
I would expect them to cash in on their involvment in F1 and put out something using hybrid technology.
Otherwise why bother with it at all.

You forgot the most OTT Honda ever....... Three letters

CBX

everyone's favourite bike to knock, but in over 40 years of riding bikes the Big Six still is the bike that sits at the top of the pile imo.

At Launch Cycle (USA Magazine) said "HONDA CBX SUPERSPORT, The objective-- to build the fastest production motorcycle for sale anywhere in the world-- has been met. The Bike is more than fast; it is magicx. The exploding glitter of its technical credentials lights up the sky."

Everyone say's "it's too big, it doesn't handle", well in the same test at Willow Springs Raceway The CBX lapped 2 seconds per lap quicker than any other stock bike available at the time.

And then there's the noise, Still in my opinion the best sounding bike of all time.

Owned two, sadly let my last one go just before classic Japanese Bike prices skyrocketed (still got £6k for it, but it's probably worth £15-18K now.....)

AND if Honda do Launch a V4 Sportsbike, there's no way on earth it'll be a Fireblade, there's only one name for it and that's RVF

Haven’t Honda CBRs always been in-line engines? And the Fireblade always a CBR..?

So would a V4 Fireblade be a bit at odds with Honda’s naming strategy..?

According to rumours it’s the RVF1000RR, I’d have thought the Fireblade will still continue to be sold alongside it.
If it’s true it’s going to be quite a machine, I just hope they stick with the gear driven cams and the distinctice Honda V4 drone, as much as I love the Panigale, and the Aprilia I had before that, Honda make the best sounding V4s, and they’ve not made a sports one for two decades!.
