Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how to test a fuel sender. Have just got it out of the car, put a tester between the two terminals and nothing. Took it apart to see if the varying coil works, seems to be fine but I cant get any ohm resistance from it.....

Yep, that's the usual method! Could be the resistance wire isn't making decent contact with the terminals?

HI Ian,
Have fixed the fuel sender, the small varying coil had broke so run a vary small run of solder to make contact, and a better earth. Now works fine.
Pity i cant find the problem with the lights. When the ignition is switched on and the lights flashed, all the injectors tick or should I say clack!
I think its something to do with earthing again, seeing the only way the inj's work is by earthing. Just cant seem to find the break anywhere yet.
Only one or two little things now which are stopping me from taking it for the dreaded MOT.
Have even got a radio now !!!

A quick way to check earthing is to use a jumplead to go directly from the battery -ve to where you suspect the bad earth is eg the engine block etc.. that way you short circuit the suspect earth.
