Hi, I have a car on PCP with Audi expiring in a years time.

I had a service done today and told the rear dics/pad need replacing which audi have quoted me £450 for.

What I wanted to ask was, if I get the pads/discs replaced elsewhere, how important is it they are OEM parts, will this be picked up? I'm not sure yet as to whether I will hand back the vehicle but as I've done a lot of excess mileage I will most likely use it as part exchange or buy it and re-sell.

Also a cheeky side-question whilst I'm here if anyone wants marks for extra-curricular activity- All my alloys are scuffed and theres a few scratches currently on the car- if/when I hand the car back - will the charges they give me for these be outlined as on this : https://www.audifinance.co.uk/en/private_customers...

Or do they set their own price and is that something else?

Thanks

For the pads I would check your PCP agreement and see what it says.

The charges for any damage should also be in this agreement or you can request them from the leasing company.

Buy OEM discs and pads from Audi and get them replaced by an indie or maybe have a go yourself

Do the discs and pads actually need replacing ?? Dealers are not immune from some atistic licence.
Ive seen the "needs replacing" ruse used when what they actually meant to say was " in our opinion they will not last until the next scheduled service which is when we will see the car again so shall we do them now ??"

Agreement says nothing about repairs.

On their website, these two screenshots are literally the closest thing I can find to talking about repairs, their handbooks don't have much and my agreement doesnt say anything about repairs or servicing- only mileage, insurance/mot etc.

Yeh they sent a video and they do look fairly coroded and worn- but also last years service they did say they would need replacing in the future and this time they said it does need replacing, 10k miles later

Man just use Bosch Pagid or brembo.. no one checks this stuff, don’t stress yourself.

Just use a brand thats known like above. Use Audi/VW is possible but doesn’t have to be.
