In response to the vitriol being heaped on dogs and their owners here:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I don't like children.

I often have previous form of liking their parents but then all they do is go on an d on about how amazing their children are.

Once they get to teenage years the novelty wears off and the parents return to normal.

My pet hate is when people claim having kids doesn’t restrict things at all in anyway.

I’m thinking of one chap I know who if you invited him to a chainsaw juggling class followed by a heavy drinking session topped off with a metal concert would say; ooh let’s bring so and so plus their kids, they are 5 and 7 now.

I like the children but not necessarily the parents.

I also thought of starting a similar thread.

Smelly, noisy, no control and that's just the parents.

I told my SiL never using the word "no" would come back and bite her, now a few years later she's concerned why they don't take any notice of her

Her and her kids coming next week for a few days, I'm aiming to be in my music room with the door shut for the duration. I may even move my homebrew in there.

My dog has never st on the carpet, and it wouldn't have taken me 2 years to teach him not to either

I don't remember who said this but the quote goes something like...

"Children are like farts. I can tolerate my own, sometimes even enjoy them, but I wouldn't want to be stuck in a room full of other people's"

Do you think it's about focusing your hate?

Back to the brexit threads with you.

I'm not entirely serious & I couldn't give a st on the carpet if your thing is to own the four legged equivalent of a retarded child that will never grow up, yet the underlying point is if some of you doggy people can't tolerate any criticism whatsoever of your lifestyle choices, it reflects on you rather poorly.

Johnny Vegas. The exact quote is "Children are like farts. You cherish your own but hate everyone elses' "

No thread about no one liking Cats and their owners. Bi-winning.

I'd much rather go to a dog friendly pub than a child one.

Why have so many threads about things you "hate"?

Too much hate, bitterness and bile on display on PH at times.

Be nice.

rofl

Or stick to perma-curmudgeonliness, Eric.

As the OP this was started with tongue very firmly in cheek as a reaction to the dog thread.

As one of my friends says "having kids is just keeping cum as a pet"
Saying that he has 3 kids now.

I totally understand why people talk non-stop about their kids. My lad is just over 14 months, to watch him learn and pick up new things, even if it's the most simple of things, is absolutely mind-blowing. I honestly can't wait to tell people what new stuff my boy can do.

Nothing comes close to how happy he makes me. Without wanting to sound patronising I don't think it's something you can understand unless you have kids of your own, a little version of you.

I mean, I'm not really bothered by other people kids so I know you don't care if my lad growls when I ask him 'what sound does a tiger make', but I love it smile

There is simply no need for new children in the quantity that they are being produced today in the UK. Much better to import them at the age of 16-18 when they can be put to work.
