After 10 laps of fairly hard driving at Anglesey circuit my car dropped a pint or so of coolant behind the front offside wheel.

I was unable to ascertain the exact location of the leak ( or to therefore fix it ) so the days fun was curtailed. I was however left with a long drive home. So setting of very slowly with lots of stops to check for further leaks I proceeded.

After several stops the problem had evidently gone away and my confidence ( and progress ) increased. The car is now tucked away with zero evidence of anything wrong whatsoever.

Can anyone shed any light on this ?

Is there a relief valve on the system ?

If its similar to other Porsche set ups then it could be the front water pipes starting to leak. The are 4 elbows, 2 distribution tubes and 2 alloy pipes and they corrode and leak.

That would be one of the rads leaking. All crimped rads = junk.

I'm going to replace with CSF.

Yes that all sounds very reasonable, but why only leak at the track, and not on the 150 mile drive home ?
