Just wondering as have seen a nice guards Red but you don’t see many about compared to the blacks, blues and whites.

Would a red one limit or lessen resale value on a 992 or 991.2?

I personally think red works better with either older models or relatively focused/sporty spec

I think it is a popular enough color that it will still be sellable at a decent price, but might take a little longer (the guy who does want red, might well pay more for it than a black/silver one though)

My last six 911’s have been Guards Red. Never had a problem selling any of them.
Classic colour IMHO.

Of course not, any colour is a best seller when you buy from an OPC until the moment you sell and then that lovely red or whatever you have is always difficult to shift hence the slightly lower trade in offer laugh

Guards is one of the best colours for a Porsche imo especially GTS as it is relatively rare specced new.

Had numerous models in Guards including 997s GT3s and GT4. Just sold my Guards Carrera T took 3 days probably because only 2 red ones for sale rest were all black or silver.

Guards is a classic Porsche colour great road presence easy to keep looking good doesn't show dirt easy to touch up. And it's free unlike Metallics although bizarrely it was special order on the 991.1 GT3 RS.

Speccing my 718 GT4 in Guards too.

Guards Red is great.

The interiors are the issue. Metropole Blue, Hearing Aid Beige, Funeral Parlour Grey etc will make the car hard to sell.

Thanks good to know and glad it’s not just me.

With you on the interiors there are some shocking combinations out there, you wonder what goes through some people’s heads...?

I don’t think you can go wrong with guards Red and a black interior.

The 992 Guards I’m looking at also has guards Red seat belts and the sports Chrono and rev counter is in red too, it’s a nice touch and oozes class.

A few years ago my dealer steered me away from ordering a night blue car, he said the trade referred to the colour as 'doom blue'. I still like the colour but some things just stay with you.

This 991.2 T has Sports Chrono judging by the steering wheel, but yet there is no clock/pod/wart on top of the dash. Is there a delete option on 991.2? Can this be retro-removed i.e. buy the blank and swap it with the pod, leaving the wiring inside the dash?

That's my ex car I did not spec SC hence no dash clock. Seem to remember the SC clock had a track precision app.

The steering wheel 'Manettino' dial had sport sport plus and individual settings which were standard on the T.

No Gentian Blue is a deep metallic blue which has an underlying purple tone.

Doom blue or 'varicose vein' blue is the derogatory term given to non metallic dark blues (like royal blue), which are traditionally the worst colours for resale for used cars.

Along with beige and certain greens of course.

My brother in law ordered a brand new 997 in guards red.

He drove it for two weeks then sold it, fortunately not losing any money as it was a new model at the time.

It was the number of people who said "nice pink car" which made him sell. He hadn't wanted a pink car.

In certain light GR does indeed look pink.

I am always amazed at how few of the cars come in bright colours. Endless silver black or white.
Porsches are supposed to be sports cars. I have not had guards red, but my 911s have all been bright colours with black contrast-stitched interiors.
