What does the original boot release button actually do now?
My 96 500 was also the same as above but I modified it to:
From left to right: Hazard, Fan override, Boot unlock Fog lights, headlights, side lights.
The switch under the steering formerly for panel lights is now a 12 volt socket to save trailing cables from the drivers door.
Over the winter I will be putting another 12v socket on the passenger side to save cables trailing across the heater panel.
I thought that both the panel switch and the door locking switches unnecessary
