M3, M4, M5 or C63

Not a regular poster but thought I’d ask this community for their thoughts to the problem I have.
Recently sold a RS3 8P and now I’m in the process of looking for the next car. I did initially sell the RS3 with the plan of buying a C63 (w204) but started to get cold feet. So the cars I’m looking at:
C63 (w204), pure and simple, I love the noise! But, I’ve been looking at these online for 3 months and they’re not shifting, which will be even worse in 2 years time when I sell.
M3 (F80), it’s an M3, why wouldn’t you want one. Well it is a little out of my bracket and I do have a little issue about engine sound enhancement through speakers.
M4, same as above.
M5, love the thought of 560bhp from a 4.4 V8 twin turbo, but it is a big car and maybe not the car I need for welsh back roads, neither is a C63 I suppose.
Anyway, any opinions will be appreciated, and yes I do realise I should test drive before I buy but not really possible where I live.

I bought a 981 Boxster S back in 2014 - read more or less anything at the time and it was the car to have, nothing better for the price, etc, etc. Well I didn't like it, sold within a year (fortunately it held good money), just no wow, felt badly built and tbh it wasn't very quick.
Test drove and bought an SLK55 in 2015 - now everywhere will tell you how much better a boxster, f-type, etc is, but I've still got the little merc 4 years later and still absolutely love it. There is just something about the big engine amg cars that others cant replicate. Every time you fire it up a massive smile comes across your face and by then end of the journey it's still there.
M4, M5 you can keep. But M3, the force is strong with that one!! It's a nice problem to have.

Fair enough, but worth having on the radar - dealer contribution of £25k means if you wanted to end up buying it, its not the worst way of ending up in the M5. Out of the age you are looking at, that M3 would take some beating. Only had a quick go of one, but they look superb and sound great.
I’ve been watching C63 estates in the last 4 weeks and 5 out of 11 have sold (2012-2014 ‘204’s), just getting a feel for the market as I’ve got 2 V8’s in my garage now and may get hassled to sell one. The C63 is awesome, similar era M5 was far too civilised at sane speeds. The C63 is a hoot at 20 mph. Don’t worry about the market in two years! Long time dead and all that....

I guess you like straight lines. I bought my 981s 2 years ago and my M4 about 18 months ago.
As soon as I could get rid of one it was the M4. It was just unemotional, lacking in anything that was in my mind sports car. It went fast in straight lines and gripped well but the Porsche just killed it for fun and enjoyment.

C63 is a good car, a little heavy for a coupe/saloon but good, nice noise N/A not a lot of configuration options with the driving modes and very thirsty.
M3/M4, i've got the M4, great everyday car, not too heavy, exhaust does lack but good performance and fuel economy is pretty decent if your light footed, i've seen close to 35mpg around NSL on a run with some quick overtaking. The DCT box is brilliant and much better than the C63.
Exhaust noise is poor so factor this in, definately needs an exhaust.
M5, big heavy comfortable saloon with the most bhp, and decent configuration with driving setup.
Out the 3 i'd go M3/M4 think the look the nicest out the 3, and a good everyday car with good power and a good gearbox without too much weight!

Hard to argue against what you’ve said there, M3 and M4 both brilliant cars and I’d defo be looking at an exhaust for them if I was to purchase. Estates sell to be fair, pretty sure that is why Audi is so successful with their RS models.And ye, I know, life’s too short to not have a V8.

Wow!! That's impressively touchy...I bought my 981s 2 years ago and my M4 about 18 months ago.
As soon as I could get rid of one it was the M4. It was just unemotional, lacking in anything that was in my mind sports car. It went fast in straight lines and gripped well but the Porsche just killed it for fun and enjoyment.

Yeah, i'd go m3/m4 if your doing decent mileage as the most nimble/usable. 25k will get you a higher mileage m4 just about, the m3's seem to hold good value for now. I went all in and got a quattroporte 4.7 sport GTS, probably one of the best sounding standard from the factory V8’s ever (along the the granturismo with the same engine).
Not as fast as an M4/5 or C63 but plenty fast enough for the road, but if you need the latest infotainment you won’t be impressed. However, the noise and feel good factor is off the scale.
