New Clutch noise
Discussion
Hi all,
Had a new clutch fitted a year ago in my 2001 Celica and have a problem.
When I select reverse gear and get to biting point i can hear a 'contact noise/click' (cant think of another way to describe it). This happened constantly every time i use the clutch in reverse.
However the car also makes the same noise when i select 1st gear for the first time and start pulling away/biting point... but only does this once even after using other gears.
Can someones please advice!
Many thanks
Alex

Thank you for your reply.
Made a mistake in my post, only happened once I've released the clutch in reverse, not engaging.
Had a new clutch and bearing fitted but had problems with the garage as the bearings fitted kept making noise. Wondering if related...
Why would this noise only happen once in 1st gear but constant when releasing the clutch in reverse. Just seems strange to me.

One point you need to clarify.
What do you mean when you say it happens constantly when using the clutch in reverse?
Surely you only use the clutch until the gear is engaged?
I understand your concern point...What do you mean when you say it happens constantly when using the clutch in reverse?

When I select reverse and make small maneuvers and use the clutch at the biting point i hear the noise when I go from clutch being partly engaged to disengaged. Noise happens every time and wish I could describe it better.
My worry it being the driveshaft as I have had problems with the new clutch bearing the garage fitted and they swears they cannot find a problem.
