Classic paint and leather combos - thoughts?

Interior

Florence's tanneries produce this lovely mid brown almost oxblood colour. See below... with contrasting stitching.


Carpets
Black

Headlining
Black Alancantara or a period off white. vinyl

Exterior

Either Navy blue as your pictures or a slate grey metallic like this Maserati

I wonder if you will come to regret it if you don't paint it in its original colour? I only say this because I painted my car sky blue metallic but as the years passed I wondered if I had done right. I loved that colour:-



But five years back repainted it in original colours:-



Personally, I love the photo of yours in blue, and I am wondering if a light blue of the leather shown above would suit, but probably black. Love the style of the leather though. Class.

What combinations would you guys like if this were your car?

Some pictures of classic cars with the colour combo, details etc that you come up with would be great!

I've got a blank canvas and I really could do anything within reason. I want the combination to be more or less in sync with the period, so no spectraflair silvers please! haha

I'd go for the dark navy blue as the link (Lord Blue I think its called? Atleast it is on an Integrale) with red leather looks fantastic. Or with tobacco leather interior.

I think Lord Blue was a Fiat name, as I respirated 2 light blue Fiats in that colour.
I think it was also used for later Lancias as per the Delta
I had a navy blue Fulvia, and recall that the colour was simply called Lancia Blue, and was fractionally darker than Lord Blue.
I fully agree with the red or tobacco interiors - pure class.

Firstly what a great car, always been on my bucket list, it’s a mini Flamainia Sport, but I have do have the Lancia bug.

If you are hoping to keep the residual value in a good place I would recommend going with the original colour combo. You also mentioned restoring the interior in another thread, again I would restore the interior to exactly how it would have left the factory, so no fancy diamond stitching. The only upgrade you can get away with is changing to real leather if the car originally came with vinyl and putting carpet on top of the mats. This is a rare car and is more of a collector’s item and this market wants originality.
