Renew EHICs yes or no?

I noticed when we went away a couple of weeks ago that our EHICs had expired.

We didn't need them. In fact we've never used them and with the 31 October looking is there actually any point?

I would just renew it as there is no cost or hassle involved, irrespective of what may happen after 31st Oct.

Neither myself or my wife have ever used ours but our 18 month old daughter ended up in hospital in croatia 2 months ago with an ear infection - because she had a card in her own name we didn’t need to pay a penny. The hospital photocopied her passport and EHIC and that was that. No drama at all. Wouldn’t travel without them after this incident.

You can travel with them as much as you like, but after 31st October they are likely to be utterly worthless. Thank you, brexit. We are losing so much to gain nothing.

What a brilliant benefit, implemented easily and for free. Gone.
