Hi all,

Just playing with my Vantage V8 07 plate .

I would like to take it to a dealer and for them to inspect it and give me a report of everything they would recommend needing done .

I of course will review this and decide if what needs done etc .

Does AM main dealers offer this type of check ? What’s the approx cost ? I would call them and just ask but they are closed today.

Thanks

Craig

In Australia the dealers will do a "pre-purchase" inspection and report for about $500

Often if you then use them for some of the work or servicing they will waive the fee

I'm pretty sure they will do similar in the UK

Personally I’d get a decent Indy to do a proper inspection for less money. The main dealer inspection is very superficial.

I did something similar. Took mine to AML in Macclesfield
They identified a couple of minor jobs. These are being done this week

Thanks all,

What i am hoping is they will be ( as they’re a dealer ( be extra picky and that’s what i want .

A list of any and all issues or faults or things that aren’t just quite right and then i can go through them .

I agree! Main dealers seem to miss loads of things.

It’s about £275 I think for a inspection. I had a minor service too to make sure the correct oil etc was in. Was about £420 altogether.
I’m having a couple of brake pipes done tomorrow and Mot whilst it’s there.
Then hopefully all good till next summer

Main dealers picky ... yeah your right inventing issues that arent there. Get an indy to do it ... much more attention to detail and the coffee is just as good ;-)

Hi all,

So, I called Monday AM. They got the car booked in for this morning and have reported back.

High level, I am so far impressed.

First of all Aston Martin Edinburgh don't just service Astons but pretty much any type of exotica, ferarris, lambos, there was even a Rolls in there.

When I called them Monday I told them I wanted the boot switch replaced and also an error that came up "DSC Service required". This error appeared on Sunday BEORE I plugged in my new CTEK battery conditioner.

I got my report today after 4 hrs and then also a call.

Outcome.

Car is in really good condition, nothing major to report bar these;

Boot switch is indeed faulty.
New Wipers
The tyre gunk is 9 yrs out of date.
The air com compressor is goosed (it was)
Air con seals
The battery simply needs a charge and was causing the DSC service issue. I know this is true as today when I disconnected the battery conditioner and started her up the message was then gone.

That's it.

Tyres, suspension, oil, no leaks, body work etc all good.

So quite happy really.

I tried an indy on the east side of Edinburgh but they are out of the country until after August so no good.

So from me anyway, top marks so far for Edinburgh Aston.

The check and video talk through was £0.

The new boot release and labour is £200 inc labour

Air con unit, regass, debug, washers and pollen filter is £1200 inc labour.

Will be ready come Thursday/Friday AM.

I'm totally sure I can get it a bit cheaper elsewhere, of course I can, but they are very near by house ad on my way to work. Convenience for me. Close by, one drop off, one pick up and a lot of buyers do like to see a main dealer check and invoices etc.
