Hi!

I have a Seat Ibiza 1.4 (6L). Just noticed the other day that there was a coolant leak. Got under the car and noticed that it was leaking from a part that connects to the bottom of the radiator. Between the lower radiator hose and the radiator. Don't know the exact name of the part but have attached a picture that shows where the leak is. Have made a red circle of where it leaks.

Now to the question. Do I have to change the whole radiator or only the black piece?

The whole radiator will need replacing as the plastic end tank should be one piece.

It depends on where it is coming from on "the black bit" if it is just the hose end, remove it & try to get it to sit better/change hose clip etc to suit, if it is from a crack/hole etc then you need to replace the whole thing as I doubt it will come apart separately.

You need to take the hose off the radiator and check the condition of the inside of the hose and the outside of the radiator spigot.

If the spigot is damaged or the end tank is damaged/leaking, you need to repair/replace the radiator.

If the inside of the hose is damaged, you almost certainly need a new hose although you might just get lucky and be able to cut the damaged end off and still have enough hose left to reach.
