Parted company this afternoon, is that him done now? A lot of people saying he’s got a lot going on in his private life as well and trouble with his back.

Can’t think who will take his place?

Taylor will probably want to win that series, that race was the best of the weekend today.

No shock with Ellison, he has been well below par all year, might just drop to one bike.

  1. Hicky had his leathers nicked by some wazark earlier today too. Some people.

He left his missus at the beginning of the year I believe. Got together with a pit girl.

Are we talking here about Ellison? I heard he was moving to the USA? She was American and I gather quite lovely!

Yes. He was caught out playing away and things have unraveled somewhat from there, including a rather public twitter spat. Not surprised he’s gone, as his best years are definitely behind him.

Considering he was thinking about hanging up his gear end of last season and living the family life in the US, I was actually surprised he raced at all.

As Lindun has said above, all that changed when he was caught shagging a brolly dolly, he's a nice bloke but has royally fked up.

What a total arse, how sad, saying that I would imagine his ex wife was probably one too! But he had kids and everything, what a tool!

His ex was a qualified doctor.

I was looking at Race 1 results and Ellison's fastest lap was a fraction faster than 2nd place man, Redding's. He has pace. Just can't seem to translate that into a consistent race result.

Rebecca (team head of Smith's BMW) was interviewed and said that was a pre-medidated tactic. So everything was geared and setup as a qualy run. The fastest lap was very near the beginning.

He wasn’t retiring just leaving BSB. He was after either a WSBK ride (never going to happen), or possibly WEC again, AMA wasn’t really an option for him.

Always liked Ellison. Good rider on his day but sadly his days just dried up and it's become a bit embarrassing.

Best of luck to him though.

Surely this thread requires the mandatory wife vs grid girl photos so we can accurately assess Ellison's life changing decision making process???

Said grid girl is rather...'enhanced' shall we say.

It was funny, Ellison and his new woman walking around the paddock yesterday and loads of people uttering 'I can't believe he's ditched his wife for her...'

Be interesting to see if/where he goes and what Smiths will do now.

Does this include the worst lady enhancement of all time - "The Eyebrows!"
