Or has selling cars privately gotten so much more difficult? Have had my car up for sale for a couple of months now, and whilst I do get some interest, I find people’s expectations just seem to be wildly out of place. For clarity I have a 2005 Saab 9-5 Aero with all the right mods, and 121,000 miles. It’s for sale at £2,650.

The latest person said he wouldn’t buy it because it wasn’t as perfect as he thought it SHOULD be as it had two stone dents in the bonnet. Not corrosion (they’re known for this, and mine is perfect), nor mechanical condition (again, been looked after by the right people, and enthusiast owned for the past 10 years), but stone dents. Drove 2 hours to come and see it, but wouldn’t even drive it, nor look inside. Mad.

The one before that, decided not to come and view it (despite having arranged to do so) as he had seen another in worse condition and in standard tune, and so decided mine must be the same (“I’ve decided their all just old dinosaurs mate” was his exact words).

I’ve been in the motor trade for 27 years before embarking on a new career this year, and I don’t think I’ve ever known buyers to be like this! And I sold Aston’s.......

Is any else finding this, or is it just me?
