Listening to the radio on the way into work this morning, thing's seem pretty bleak at the moment and it's got me rather down.
Another Mass shooting in the US
Young boy thrown off a viewing tower at the Tate
Brexit
England doing awful in the Ashes
NHS needing to find huge sums of money to fix the hospitals
More and more people losing their homes they've worked hard for their whole life to care fees.
Personally for me throughout June we also had a couple of deaths in my family as well.
So I thought it might help to lift some spirits if people shared some good news they've had that can help inspire faith in the human race again!

My daughter just texted me that she's passed her driving test. She also got promoted last weekend in the Air Cadets to Cadet Warrant Officer, which is about as high as you can get. I've lost about 2 stone since Jan on a diet.

My daughter is now 10 months old and has been 'promoted' to sleeping in her own bedroom having been in ours up until now, I got 8 hours of blissful solid sleep last night, if that's not good news I don't know what is.
Coincidentally, my little boy (now 2 1/2) slept through till gone 7 this morning. Though I woke up at 6:30 and then worried for half an hour something might be wrong with him. But yes, you never appreciate a good nights sleep more than when you have young kids and 7:00 feels like a 10:00 lie in before you had kids.

MrsG29 is in this category, she is very intelligent so it's not ignorance, she just doesn't really follow current affairs, she seems a lot happier than me most of the time, I'm trying to think of any downsides???thebraketester said:

Me too and it's great. If ever I do get wind of any 'news' I'll do my own research and come to my own conclusions rather than those of that particular news outlet or spin doctor. Ignorance is absolute bliss.

We went there on a day flight excursion from Morocco years ago, and it felt, and
looked like Gravesend, or Tilbury with sunshine, we raced one another to the
plane, to get back to fly blown Tangier.

It's a godsend as a cigar-smoking single malt fan though. My last two internet cigar orders sent to my house in the UK have incurred excise duty of £300 plus, on only £200 worth of goods.
I can avoid that in Gibraltar, and so will be seriously stocking up tomorrow.
