Speed Freaks ITV4
Discussion
All about Zef Eisenberg and his attempt at breaking 200 mph on Pendine Sands.
Could be good but probably won’t. Seems a bit too centred on the characters involved rather than the actual record attempt but it’s early days.
I did search and couldn’t find a post about this. Perhaps that’s an omen

I watched it and was expecting a programme about a speed attempt on Pendine Sands. What i got was some largely irrelevant tosh about proving power to weight using an old Jeep.
So I wont watch again.
And a good proportion of the increased acceleration was down to the smaller tyresSo I wont watch again.

I don't get this at all.
they are now going to modify the 911 ,a turbo S ,to do 200 mph.
A car that very nearly does that speed already.
The Jeep strip down was just pointless too.

It did seem odd to prove weight loss helps to improve performance, then change the wheels, remove the exhaust and add an induction kit. Not sure why Zef needed to visit Malta to see dragsters.
Not sure what relevance fitting a turbo to a tiny FIAT has to doing 200mph in a Porsche on a beach.
All that fabrication work to fit the turbo and pipework and they did NOT triple the power as he kept saying
and it achieved 100 mph ,woop woop !
It did blow the doors off the Abarth 500 though, assuming that wasn't fixed.

Well it’s certainly different in its concept of tuning up sheds in order to gauge what needs to be done to go past 200 mph on sand. I think an Austin 1800 would add credibility.
This is the company doing the work on the 911

The Porsche stuff looks interesting. The rest of it is just mildly amusing filler.
That's an accurate summary of how the rest of the series will be I reckon. It fills an hour anyhow.& did anyone else notice the 'Landsail' tyres on the Fiat 500 rims they fitted to the 600 lol !?!
