Whilst picking up my Cerby after a service, I asked for a brochure as a matter of interest. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Tuscan R - 440BHP £75k.

Now the better half has said - "wait two years" (have recorded conversation as proof). Option against Porsche Turbo!

However, having taken the trouble and expense to include details and pictures of the Tuscan R, I was dissapointed that there were no performance figures included, or possible specification extras. The Cerbera 4.5 gives 0-60, 100, & 150 figures.

Other than bonkers quick, can anyone shed some light? I know that there has been chat about variable BHP etc.

As I understand each one will be bespoke spec as per the customer. The main areas being interior fit ie; lightweight racing, 2+2, longrange tanks etc and the power of the engine from the std S 390 bhp upto 440bhp.

Because of all the variables I would imagine the figeres will vary. Target weight is just a little less than a std Tuscan + 440bhp = V. fast. My guess would be 0-60; 3.9ish, 0-100 sub 8, top end 200+

Just to be boring...

No Tuscan Rs have made it off the production line yet (not counting the GTO cars).

They're going to be carbon fibre bodies... A small bump = total panel being replaced (oooh, that's going to hurt the wallet).

My guess is the Tuscan R and Porche Turbo will be light years apart in terms of driving experience so you have to choose which you want.

However, if you can afford it... get one.

I think I can remember seeing on the Harrogate Horseless Carriages site that the Tuscan R is to be 0-60 in 3.2sec and 0-100 in 6.9sec with top speed at 200mph+

for 20k more than a Cerbera RR I would hope the Tuscan R performance figures would be better than that though.

IMHO there's absolutely no chance of the R meeting these acceleration figures with only 400-420bhp/tonne (see the recent 0-100-0 challenge times)

Err, doesn't the McLaren F1 do 0-100 in 6.2? If so, the projected TuscaR figures are incredible in a £75000 car. There are no true figures, because the 4.4l engine hasn't been built/put in a car, as yet.

Yep, I think it is 6.3sec for the standard McLaren and the LM is 5.9sec. I must say the figures do seem a bit ambitious but as I say I'm quoting from the HHC site.

Just to compare the Tuscan S, according to the company brochure has a posted time of 8.1sec for 0-100 (with 390bhp) so a 'slightly' lighter car with 440bhp should IMO be able to crack 8sec if not 7.5sec?

Yes but the Tuscan S that posted those figures was slightly lighter and slightly more powerful than any Tuscan S you or I could buy

Yep, figures are for a standard Tuscan S as detailed in latest brochure.

yeah right Is that the same press car standard as:

1. the original 4.3 Griff with the 4.5 BV engine,
2. the 4.2 Cerbera with the 4.5 Tuscan spec engine,
3. the 4.5 Cerbera with the 4.7 engine,
4. the 2000 Tuscan press cars with lightweight bodies and tuned engines!

Now don't get me wrong, my Griff and Tuscans were damn fast in the real world, but not quite as fast as the published figures.

Hi Pinkey;

Going back to the EVO review, wasn't part of the Tuscan R's attraction not just it's awesome grunt but it's improved chassis too?

In other words, a more 'mature' handling envelope, whatever the hell that means?

Still, given how dribbleworthy your own killing machine looks, I might be tempted to stay Cerberatic anyways and if I WAS that bothered about chassis mods, I'm sure there was a Cerby owning PHer who posted at the time info regarding such tweaks which one could implant in the bones of the Greek mythological one.

(I really find this icon quite enjoyable!)
