Pulled not wearing seatbelt, unsure what fine I'll receive..

As above really. Given a receipt by officers and told I'll get something in post in 2-3 weeks. I asked what best and worst cases were and he said it doesn't carry points but wasn't too clear on fine. I've coughed to it as it's clearly my bad, but the fine "could be 30 quid up to about 100, depending on the court".

Anyone know or have recent experience of this?

If it is a FP it will be 100 fine but no points, this will be the same for 99% of cases. Or the possibility of a course

Perhaps the course should be made to accompany the emergency services to an RTA where someone hasn't worn their seatbelt.

There's your answer then. I was surprised you hadn't been given a £100 fixed penalty - it would be very unusual to be reported for not wearing a seatbelt, but now you've added that rather vital piece of information, you won't be getting a fine, as long as you complete the online course.

It's this talk of online seatbelt courses that's got me worried! I've never worn an online seatbelt but haven't been caught without it, either.

Maybe they're only needed in NP&E, though?

I survived rolling an MGB GT as a result of not wearing a seat belt. Wouldn't be without one now though.

Here's a concept.
Most deaths in car accidents occur due to head injuries

If you wear a cycling helmet, that doesn't obscure your vision when driving it will reduce your chance of dying in a car crash.
Not mandatory, certainly safer yet no one does it.

As a follow up in case anyone else gets offered this, I received a letter with details to log into an online training site (watch this short video, answer the questions, etc) which took me about 25-30 mins. Fine as a result of doing this was £52 iirc, payable online before I was able to take the quiz.
