Hello guys,

Just looking for a little advice. Recently purchased my Vantage through AM Bristol but after developing a couple of issues (pesky TPS error and cabin rattle) I’m looking to potentially use AM Birmingham in Solihull to carry out the necessary work as they are much closer to me. Do any of you here have experience with this dealer?
I find Bristol great to deal with but unfortunately logistically it makes life a little difficult.

TIA,

My experience with them was not so good, but this was last November and they could have changed since then. Car went in for pre-delivery service and they were unable to diagnose headlamp fault the McGurks resolved in minutes and they took too much time to fix the electric seat module that probably wasn't faulty anyway. They also did not pick up on seized handbrake calipers. Fortunately I didn't have to pay for any of their work.

It's always difficult rating service and I am sure others have had good service from them

Not surprisingly I had superb service from them when I bought my 2007 V8 a year ago, but since then the after sales service has let them down on a few occasions.

They charged me for annual service work they didn't even carry out (pollen filter and transaxle oil); the car went in twice to have the dashboard leather re-glued but it came back both times without the work being carried out, so it had to go back for a third time and even then the dashboard still hadn't been properly secured and is still loose to this day!

On some plus points, when one of the idler pulleys failed they covered the cost to replace all of them, which saved me a fair few quid, and they knocked £225 off the service bill when I insisted I provide my own oil (which only cost me £90).

So, all in all, a bit hit and miss but I'm seriously considering McGurks for future work [edited by moderator]

Well, my experience with Grange AM B'ham has been superb. Nothing has been too much trouble for them and the last time it was in for service and seat module replacement the service manager let me have her car as courtesy cars were out. driving

Interesting that this was moderated and removed, but the people who quoted my comment did not have their comments removed...

Hahaha!

Am I missing something here guys with the removal of comments? Thanks for your honesty it’s much appreciated. I was hoping to build a relationship going forward with my local dealership but I like most I’m sure want to ensure my car is looked after as well as my bank balance! While the car is under warranty I want to still have the car looked after by AM really.

Thanks for your input!

Why not give Brum a try. But if that’s close to you you will also be in the free pick-up/delivery catchment area for AM Works too (the 60miles is a bit flexible)

Thank you! That’s great info. That was really the only reason for not going back to Bristol. The charges for the pick-up and delivery would have been a little uneconomical. Thanks Rob will give that a whirl!!
