VFR800 VTEC Leaking Fuel Injectors
Discussion
My 2002 has sudddenly developed crap MPG.
I’ve gone through the pain of replacing the thermostat (if this fails then the ECU is fooled into thinking that it is always cold, so forces it to run rich) to no avail.
Having got the airbox off and delved into the throttle bodies it looks like I have some fuel inside the airbox, and having looked at a couple of YouTube vids it would suggest this is the issue.
I’ve never heard of leaking injectors before. Anyone had this? Is it just a case of replacing the rubber spacers and O-rings which could understandably have hardened/failed with age.
I’m reasonably competent on the spanners but not much experience with fuel injection systems so any advice appreciated.
