My lease company sent me a letter which arrived today advising me that they've given Hampshire's finest my address for my efforts two weeks ago on the A32 into Gosport. I've not seen a camera van at this location in the 7 months I've been using this road.

My own fault, accepted, and I admit to succumbing to a certain amount of frustration after being held up in a 70 limit doing around 40 in lane 2 while the road in front of the offending vehicle was completely clear. When he slotted into lane 1 I decided to clear the line of cars on the left before moving over. The usual happened with everyone (apart from me
) braking sharply, I simply lifted and allowed engine braking to do the work and it was too late for me to do anything else about it after I saw the van.
This road drops from a 70 to 40 limit and I think the speedo was showing about 50'ish, maybe 55. Not completely sure and I regretted my dash-cam not having the facility to record speed.
This'll be my first NIP in 33 years of driving. Hoping for a course but believe I may be outside that option.

If you can be bothered to watch the whole video you'll see him use all three lanes on either side of vehicles. I stayed in what will become lane 4 to allow the A3 traffic to merge and the Eastern Road traffic to move over without crossing my path.
Now, as is typical, I feel aggrieved that while I was I driving too quickly my behavior wasn't by default dangerous. Arguably the drivers who change lanes with short or no notice in order to screen themselves or brake sharply are actually more of a risk.
I kind of feel that they're able to allocate resource when there's revenue to be made but cocks like this go unnoticed. Well I would wouldn't I!

I believe it was that section of the A32 that Judge District Gillebrand declared unsafe convictions and people were allowed to over turn their points and ask for their fines back. I reckon around 46-50, based on the lane markings and video frame timings so hopefully a course. re the second vid, you were in lane 4 for the whole two minutes, mostly unnecessarily. I don't condone it, but I'm not surprised someone decided to pass on the inside.

kers are always trying to justify their crap driving? Very often a Tallyvan on that road towards Gosport. It's to stop people speeding, or something.

M27 'smart motorway' conversion very busy yesterday. Instead of doing 50 mph, traffic sorts itself into 3 lanes: the timid at 45 in Lane 1, the cruise controllers at 52 mph in lane 2, and the chancers, white van men, and leased BMW's doing 54.9 in lane 3.
Fortuntely, they put yellow stripes on them so you can't miss them. :-)

Video is a bit decpetive, there's a busy junction at the bottom of that road, traffic joining from the left, and traffic also trying to get over to the left for Gosport. Queing Gosport traffic and 'force my way in for left lane' prangs are v. frequent. Hence the pretty van.
The first 40 MPH sign occurs well back towards the M27 to slow traffic in advance, so there's always the temptation to 'make progress' before you come down the slight incline and finally spot the van.
This occurs for the OP just <3 seconds after passing the 40 MPH sign, the one with the 'Camera' sign on it:

I seriously think some don't expect to slow down at all or want a 100m transition after the change.
And God forbid if, like me, you slow before the change

From the video it looked like lane 1 was clear for a bit. I would do the same. People sit in lane 3 when clearly the other lanes are free. You are barely going any faster than lanes 1&2. Move over.
