I've got a dead simple question!

Can I use standard car polish on my GRP Body Panels?
If not then what does everyone else use?

Cheers

It's a good idea to use something UV resistant to give the gelcoat pigment a chance, otherwise I use anything I can lay my hands on when I'm in the mood to clean the car.

My Gelcoat is almost impervious to T-Cut, I use it if I pick up small scratches and it polishes them out a treat...eventually!

So you don't have a TVR then?

Paint on Tivs is a bit soft!

Aaaahh...I assumed the question was about Gelcoat..
Surely it doesn't matter what the material underneath is if you are talking about a painted surface.

OK I'll start again...

The gel coat on Tiv's is a little soft, hence the majority the the guy's I know who own Tiv's don't use T cut!

Think it's got ammonia in it.

Oh. It's sinking into my dense skull now....

A friend of mine had just had his Cerbera Armorfended (S) when the paint elsewhere started to bubble....TVR stripped the whole car and repainted the shell.

Thanks to all those that have replied.

I know the question may have sounded a bit daft, only I am about to polish up my new car and was'nt looking forward to fu#!ing up the paintwork!

I had looked on the back of a bottle of my existing wax, but it did'nt mention GRP surfaces so I just wasnt sure.....better to check with a quick post here!

Cheers

Which TVR's have a gelcoat finish? Certainly all the more modern ones I've ever seen have been painted.
